Your travels to Northern Michigan may take you by air or by road, but no matter the path, each mile brings us closer to the moment we say “I do.” As Ernest Hemingway once said, “Never go on trips with anyone you do not love.” This journey to the heart of our celebration is more than a trip - it’s part of the story of love and companionship we’re so grateful to share with you. As we travel our own road to the altar, we’re reminded that the best journeys are the ones taken together.
Approximate driving distances and times from nearby, notable airports and metropolitan areas to Walloon Lake are:
Pellston Regional Airport (PLN): 40 minutes / 30 miles
Cherry Capital Airport, Traverse City (TVC): 1 hour 30 minutes / 65 miles
Grand Rapids: 3 hours / 200 miles
Detroit: 4 hours / 270 miles
Chicago: 6 hours / 380 miles
Please note that summer in Northern Michigan is the busiest time of year. If you are traveling via air, we highly recommend reserving a rental car as soon as possible as inventory during peak season can dwindle quickly.
Please also note that while Uber and Lyft may appear to have a presence in and around the Petoskey/Walloon Lake area, these for-hire providers are extremely unreliable and should not be used as a primary method of transportation.

We encourage you to book your accommodations soon, as space is limited during the peak summer season “up north!” You’ll find all the details and booking links below. We can’t wait to see you and share this special weekend together!
